The Bolt returns 128 MPGe in the city and 110 MPGe on the highway. It has a 238-mile driving range on a full charge, which exceeds the range of many other electric cars. Replenishing a depleted battery takes nine hours using a 240-volt charger. You can get 90 miles of range with a 30-minute charge at a DC fast-charging station.
As Edmunds reports, DC fast charging capability 'allows the car to use SAE Combo 400-volt Level 3 charge stations that can fill the battery to 80 percent in little more than an hour. Think in terms of a charge rate upwards of 150 mph-c and you can see the benefit. [They] consider this option to be essential for a car with as much range as the Bolt because, as more of these stations get built, DC fast charging will open the door to interstate travel.'
