Plugging in at a 240-volt outlet or a Level 2 public charging station can fully charge the car's 78-kWh battery pack in about eight hours. Connecting to a DC fast-charging station is the quickest way to charge the Polestar 2. with this method, the dual-motor models can go from a 10% to an 80% charge in about 34 minutes, according to Polestar. The single-motor version offers a slightly faster charge rate and does the job in about 28 minutes. A typical 120-volt household-style power outlet (Level 1) can add a couple of miles of range per hour, but it's only really useful in an emergency.
A liftback is a variation of a hatchback car body style, with a more gently sloping roofline, roughly between 45 and 10 degrees, whereas traditional or archetypal hatchback designs tend to use a 45 degree to near vertical slope on the top-hinged tailgate.
With its odometer now hovering around the 18,180 mark, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the factory warranty for faulty materials or manufacturing defects concerning the vehicle itself, paintwork, corrosion and the high-voltage battery for four years or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first)!
Features include LED headlights, a power liftgate, textile upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, multi-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, an 11.2-inch touch screen, navigation, Apple CarPlay, a voice-activated virtual assistant, satellite radio (subscription required), an eight-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, four USB-C ports and wireless [Qi] device charging.
Standard safety features include forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, driver-attention monitoring, traffic-sign recognition, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a surround-view camera system and front, rear and side parking sensors.
The Dual Motor model gets 106 MPGe with 19-inch wheels or 102 MPGe with 20-inch wheels.
The Dual Motor has all-wheel drive and two electric motors -- one in front and one at the rear -- that produce a combined 421 horsepower.
If you're looking for zippier acceleration, the second motor in the Dual Motor version not only adds power but also traction. It helps slingshot the Polestar to 60 mph in a breathtaking 4.3 seconds. Back off the throttle, and it's still just as refined and relaxing to drive as the standard model.
