Please note that in April 2026, this IONIQ 5 was reacquired by Hyundai Motor America, addressing three separate concerns reported by the original owner: smoke, warning lights, and heat coming from the rear drive motor; both side mirrors failing to open; and warnings related to the vehicle's active air flap system, which helps manage airflow and cooling at the front of the car. Hyundai replaced the traction motor, motor-engine clutch assembly, high-voltage junction box assembly, and rear inverter assembly to resolve the drive motor concern, replaced both side mirror assemblies, and replaced the active upper right-hand air flap assembly.
