- J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Ownership Study: The i4 received the highest score among premium battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in this study, which is based on owners' reported experiences with their new vehicles.
- Fleet Manufacturer of the Year: BMW won this award for the sixth year in a row in 2024.
The i4 is known for its sleek design, impressive range, and cutting-edge features. Some say it redefines electric driving.
The i4's charge time depends on what type of charging option you use, and keep in mind it has a standard 11-kW onboard charger. A 120-volt household-style power outlet will add about 4 miles of range per hour, but we don't recommend this method except for emergencies. A better option is a 240-volt outlet or Level 2 charging station, which can add around 30 miles of range per hour and can fully charge the battery overnight (eight to 10 hours).
You can also use a Level 3 DC fast-charging station, which is the quickest way to charge your i4's battery. Depending on charge output and other factors, a DC fast-charging station can add up to 90 miles of range in about 10 minutes and can fully charge the battery in as little as 30 minutes.
With its odometer now hovering around the 5,850 mark, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the Basic New Vehicle Limited Warranty until February 2028 or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first)!
Every i4 also comes with:
- Automatic emergency braking (warns if a front impact is imminent and applies the brakes if you don't respond in time)
- Lane departure warning (alerts you if the vehicle begins to drift out of its lane)
- Blind-Spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert (warns you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse)
- Front and rear parking sensors (alert you to obstacles that may not be visible in front of or behind the vehicle when parking)
The eDrive35: powertrain has a single rear-mounted electric motor that produces 282 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It yields 276 miles on a single charge with its standard 18'' wheels. It only loses a nominal bit with the 19'' ones.
The eDrive35 gets 122 MPG-equivalent in the city and 119 MPGe on the highway, according to the EPA. Adding the optional 19-inch wheels diminishes these figures to 111/107 MPGe city/highway.
