Two electric motors, one per axle, produce a combined 408 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque and are fed by a 78 kWh battery. The window sticker shows an EPA-estimated driving range of about 260 miles and an efficiency rating of 100 MPGe combined, with zero tailpipe emissions.- Level 1 (120V): A standard household outlet works for topping up overnight or in an emergency, but it adds only a few miles of range per hour. Most owners prefer a Level 2 home charger.
- Level 2 (240V): The 11 kW onboard charger fully recharges the battery in about 8 hours on a 240V charger, so plugging in overnight means starting every day with a full battery.
- DC Fast Charging: The Polestar 2 accepts up to 155 kW on a compatible DC fast charger, which quickly adds a substantial amount of range during a road-trip stop.

With 487 lb-ft of instant torque, the dual-motor powertrain launches the Polestar 2 to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds and makes passing on the highway effortless.
