MECHANICAL FEATURES
Power comes from a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. Peak torque arrives at just 1,750 rpm, so the Renegade feels responsive around town and has the low-end muscle needed for crawling up a trail. A nine-speed automatic transmission keeps the engine in its sweet spot, and engine stop/start technology shuts the engine off at stoplights to save fuel. EPA ratings of 22 mpg city and 27 mpg highway make it a practical daily driver.Jeep Active Drive Low is the heart of the Trailhawk's capability. In normal driving, the system can disconnect the rear axle to reduce drag and improve efficiency, then instantly re-engage four-wheel drive when traction is needed.
