This IONIQ 5 boasts a dual-motor powertrain that delivers rapid acceleration, comfortable ride quality, user-friendly interior design, AND very quick DC fast-charging times! It ''springs out of the gate with retro-themed styling and the latest in electric vehicle design. It's also comfortable, practical and generously equipped,'' as Edmunds writes.
Standard Range models have a 58.0-kWh battery, while the Long Range's pack has a 77.4-kWh capacity. The IONIQ 5 Standard Range, which is available only with rear-wheel drive, has an EPA range estimate of 220 miles. The rear-wheel-drive Long Range can go an estimated 303 miles, while the all-wheel-drive dual-motor Long Range is rated for 256 miles.
Replenishing the Standard Range model's battery using a 240-volt Level 2 station takes less than 6.5 hours; add 2 hours for the Long Range. DC fast-charging either battery from 10% to 80% takes between 20 and 25 minutes.
With its odometer now hovering around 17,015, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the factory BUMPER-TO-BUMPER warranty until March 2027 or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first)!
The SE trim has a larger battery pack and more powerful electric motor. It's tough to beat this Hyundai's efficiency.
All-wheel-drive models feature two electric motors with a combined output of 320 horsepower. Its efficiency impresses at 110 city / 87 highway MPGe. AWD IONIQ 5 models have a range of 269 miles.
According to the EPA, the IONIQ 5 with AWD (which is what Edmunds tested) will do 256 miles on a single charge consuming 34 kilowatt-hours of energy per 100 miles.
