The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2021 Tesla Model 3 an overall safety rating of five out of five stars, with five stars in the rollover, side crash, and frontal crash tests!
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the 2021 Model 3 a Top Safety Pick+, giving it the highest rating of Good in all six crash test categories, as well as for how well its headlights illuminate the road ahead! The IIHS uses a different scale for grading collision avoidance features. It gave the Model 3 the highest rating of Superior for its standard vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention system.
As U.S. News & World Report explains: ''While you can recharge the Model 3's battery at home with a 120-volt power outlet, doing so can take between five hours and four days, as it adds approximately 3 miles of range per hour. with a 240-volt outlet, or Tesla's Wall Connector, that time can be reduced to about 10 or 11 hours. You'll get 30 to 44 miles per hour, which can essentially recharge the battery overnight
For a faster charge time, consider one of Tesla's Supercharger stations, which can add 175 miles of range in 15 minutes. Many of these stations are located near shops or restaurants, and Tesla offers a premium connectivity plan that lets drivers watch streaming services like Netflix while parked. You can also play games using the touch screen or steering wheel while the car charges.''
Because numerous conditions affect the life of a battery, it can be hard to provide a firm answer for how long it will last. However, it is estimated that a Tesla battery can last for between 300,000 and 500,000 miles. To maximize battery life, Tesla recommends keeping it plugged in to charge when you're not planning on driving.
''Because range really is peace of mind in an EV, [Edmunds recommends] the Long Range AWD. Not only do you get an EPA-estimated range of 353 miles but you get a faster onboard charger for quicker fill-ups. The all-wheel-drive system affords improved traction in inclement weather but also benefits dry-weather handling and performance. [They're] also fans of the upgraded 14-speaker audio system that's standard on this trim level,'' Edmunds writes.
With its odometer resting at 31,645, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the factory BUMPER-TO-BUMPER (Basic Vehicle Limited) warranty until June 2025 or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first)! Additionally, the battery pack and drivetrain components of this zero-emission electric sedan will be covered by the remainder of the Battery and Drive Unit Limited Warranty until 2029 or 100,000 miles! These warranties cover the repair or replacement necessary to correct defects in the materials or workmanship of any parts manufactured or supplied by Tesla, which occur under normal use. (Yes, the CARFAX report is incorrect.)
The Long Range trim adds all-wheel drive and ups the estimated range to 353 miles with the 18'' wheels and only nominally less with the 19'' ones. It also has:
