How Do You Charge the Model Y?
The Model Y's charge port is located behind a flap at the leading edge of the driver's side taillight. Simply plug in the Model Y using the charge cord, and it will begin charging. You can monitor the state of charge via the indicator light next to the charge port, the touch screen, or the Tesla mobile app.
Where Can I Charge the Model Y?
You can charge the Tesla Model Y at home or at a public charging station, including one of the more than 30,000 Tesla SuperCharger stations in the U.S. When on the road, you can use the Model Y's navigation system to find charging stations nearby or farther along your route.

How Long Does It Take to Charge the Model Y?
The Tesla Model Y's charging time depends on the method used. Plugging in with a 120-volt household-style power outlet will add about 2 to 3 miles of range per hour. This is referred to as a Level 1 charge, and it's handy for emergency use, but it isn't a practical option long term. When at home, it's better to use a 240-volt outlet or an installed Tesla Wall Connector. These Level 2 charging methods can add 30 to 40 miles of range per hour.
The quickest way to charge the Model Y is by plugging in at a Tesla Supercharger station. These fast-chargers can provide about 160 miles of range in 15 minutes. That said, Supercharging rates can vary depending on things such as the ambient temperature and battery capacity.
The Model Y is ''properly quick and provides a similar level of fun behind the wheel. Pair that with a better ride quality and . . . the Long Range is the preferred model of the two. It still checks off the 'fun-to-drive' boxes with fewer compromises to comfort,'' Edmunds writes.
